Today is the 1 year anniversary of my debut novel, You Can’t Plan Love! It’s both exciting and unbelievable because a year ago I would not believe that I would have three books under my belt. God is good.
So where am I on my book anniversary? Well, I’m in Myrtle Beach, SC at a national water quality conference where I’ll be giving a presentation on Wednesday about the projects I work on.
Now that may not seem like a big deal to many of you, but if you’ve read You Can’t Plan Love, then you see the irony in this situation. My heroine, Kenyatta Copeland, also spends the week in a sunny location at a national conference where she gives a presentation. How fitting that I get to literally channel Kenyatta on her one year “birthday”.
I think this deserves some type of celebration. I can’t do anything big (conference and all) but I can give away an autographed copy of You Can’t Plan Love. How does that sound?
To win a copy:
Tell me if you’ve ever been in the exact same situation as a character in a book you’ve read or written. If haven’t, tell me if there’s a situation you’ve read in a book that you’d like to be in. I’ll pick the winner when I’m back in town on Sunday August 25, 2013. So you’ve got plenty of time to enter and spread the word.
Note: Nothing anywhere near as sexy as what happed in in YCPL will be happening to me here 🙂
I’m so very proud of you my sister from another mister. I’ve known you most of our lives, and knew from day one that you were destined for greatness. From your very first book back in high school, to being a published author. Keep it up! There are no words to express my level of respect for you. Luvs ya lots gurl! Lol.
Aww, thanks, Travis! Love you lots, 2!
I would love to read your book! How do I get an autographed give away copy?
Hi Deborah,
Just tell me about a time that you’ve been in the same situation you read in a book, or a situation you’ve read that you’d like to be in.
