I started the New Year a little behind, but after a fantastic writer’s retreat in Destin, FL and a fun reader event in Charlotte, NC I’m refreshed, renewed, and ready to write! The annual Destin Divas retreat was just the boost I needed to finish up a few lingering projects, and share ideas about writing, publishing, and career moves with a great group of writers. When the Heart Dreams in Charlotte, NC was a fantastic reader/writer event. Not only did I meet the iconic Brenda Jackson (fan girl squeal) I also connected with other great writers. The best part of When the Heart Dreams is connecting with readers. You ladies are amazing! Your love of romance is like a shot of adrenaline. I’m so happy to be a part of this fantastic romance reader/writer community.

On the beach in Destin, FL
I’m working on a few new projects. Finishing the final book in the Jacksonville Gators series and wrapping up edits for a new project. With the closing of Harlequin Kimani in 2019, I can’t tell you if I’ll still have a future at Harlequin. Last month I talked about my hopes for the future on the Pink Heart Society’s website. After June my current deadlines will be completed, and I’ll be free to look into new projects. Even if I don’t work with a traditional publisher I have a few indie projects in mind. One is a collaboration and the other is to get back to Ryan’s story in my Caldwell Family Series.

Meeting Brenda Jackson and AnnaLisa Grant
I’m excited about the potential indie projects and the projects I’m sending to my agent. Therefore, don’t worry that when I finish up the Gator’s series there’ll be no more books from me. I’m still writing, and I believe I’ll find a place for my stories.
