Two Hot Men in the Hot Seat

One of the best things about reading romance is falling in love with the heroes. It’s something about getting inside the head of a man who’s falling head over heal for the woman of his dreams. Today, author M.J. Kane and I have decided to let you learn more about the latest men we’ve fallen in love with. I’m interviewing the hero from her novel Jaded, Zachariah, and she’s interviewing the hero from my novel A Heart to Heal, Devin.  Maybe once you get to know these two handsome men better, you’ll fall for them too.

Welcome to my blog, Zachariah! Let’s get right into it. You’re described as a computer genius. Has it been difficult to get woman to see you as more than a “computer geek”?

My job title is not a problem, and to be honest, I’ve never had a problem with dating. I guess it’s because there’s a certain type of woman that interest me. When I see a woman, her looks and clothes aren’t what do it for me. It’s her mind. A woman who’s got a good head on her shoulders and can see past my ‘geek appearance’…she gets all of my attention. And to be honest, sometimes, I play it up just to make a woman leave me alone.

Lol! Reverse psychology with the it’s me not you, huh? So tell me what was it about Yasmine that drew your attention?

Her eyes. They are a grey-blue that mesmerized me, but it’s more than that. When she looks at me, it’s as if I can read her mind when no one else can. Her mouth says one thing, but her eyes tell a completely different story. That drew me in more than the tight fitting clothes or the beauty of her coffee-with-to-much-cream completion. And then of course there’s her sassy mouth. The fact that when she’s pissed off she can curse like a sailor, but looks like an angle is impossible to ignore.

Sounds like she has several qualities that drew you in. What would Yasmine say is your best trait? Worst trait?

Hmm…I guess my best would be that I listen to her when we talk. I don’t zone out all the time and just focus on taking her to bed, though it’s hard to do sometimes. My worst trait? Once I think I know the truth, I jump to conclusions without waiting around to find out if I’m right.

Jumping to conclusions can get you in trouble. But the fact that you listen to her gives you lots of bonus points. I love a man who listens. Now for the fun stuff: What do you consider to be the perfect date?

Being alone, just the two of us. It doesn’t matter where we are. Just having her close to me, being able to look into those eyes and get lost, and seeing her smile in satisfaction is enough for me. So yeah, I can spend the day in bed, or vegging out on the sofa, or take her out to a fancy restaurant. Though home would probably be best. No need to wait to end the night of the right way.

Alright now! Tell me, if Yasmine wants to turn you on, what does she have to do?

Honestly, just walk into the room. I love it when she makes me laugh or watching her move around in the kitchen, barefoot and at ease. It’s next to impossible to keep my mind from wondering. If she really wants me, running her hands over my head pretty much does the trick. She can guide me anywhere she wants me.

Women get asked this all the time, so let’s flip it. What do you prefer on your lady? Boy shorts, thongs, or natural skin?

I love them all, but natural skin, hands down. I don’t want the enhancements she puts on for the outside world.

Thanks for the interview, Zachariah! Sounds like Yasmine is a pretty lucky lady! Now for those who want to learn more about Zachariah and Yasmine you can watch their love evolve in M.J.’s book, Jaded.

And if you want to see how my latest love, Devin Jones, answers these same questions, pop on over to M.J.’s blog.

mjheadshotM.J. Kane stumbled into writing. An avid reader, this stay at home mom never lost the overactive imagination of an only child. As an adult she made up stories, though never shared them, to keep herself entertained. It wasn’t until surviving a traumatic medical incident in 2006 that she found a reason to let the characters inhabiting her imagination free.  Upon the suggestion of her husband, she commandeered his laptop and allowed the characters to take life. It was that, or look over her shoulder for men caring a purple strait jacket. And the rest, as they say, is history.

No longer a television addict, if M.J. isn’t reading a book by one of her favorite authors, she’s battling with her creative muse to balance writing and being a wife and mother. She resides in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia with her high school sweetheart, four wonderful children, and two pit bulls. MJ can often be found hanging out at the local library where she is director of a local writer’s group, or online connecting with readers and other authors. Other activities she enjoys include: creating custom floral arrangements, assisting her children in their creative pursuits of music and art, and supporting her husband’s music production business, 3D Sounds.

MJ’s debut novel, A Heart Not Easily Broken, Book one of the Butterfly Memoirs, became an instant Amazon Bestseller in Multicultural Romance and African-American Literature and Fiction within hours of publication. It has also spent time on the African-American Women’s Fiction and African-American Romance Bestsellers lists.

You can find MJ on social networking sites, sharing writing tips, talking about music, life, and family. She’s always excited to meet new people. Connect with her via the websites below.
