New Year! Same Synithia :)

Welcome to 2020! Right before the New Year I wavered between setting goals for the year or just letting things slide. Of course, I ended up setting goals. Lol! I’ll have more free time on my hands in 2020 (theoretically) and I hope to spend that time catching up on several things.

At the start of 2019 I made the decision to focus more on self awareness and self care. I reconnected with friends, traveled more, and indulged in a lot of fun things I previously would say no to. I even tried something new (more information on that below).

2019 was a good year for me, and I hope 2020 is too. I’ll continue to focus on building the connections I’ve made with loved ones, take more time to read, and enjoy things that make me happy while cutting out the things that don’t.

As always, thanks for joining me on this ride. Let’s make 2020 a great year!

Did you know?

Remember the new thing I mentioned. In 2019 I tried writing something different. Last year Kensington Publishing asked me to branch out into women’s fiction. I published my first book as Nita Brooks, Redesigning Happiness, in August 2019. Redesigning Happiness is a story about a suddenly successful single mother who finds her perfectly-designed, fame-bound life upended by a surprise from the past.

Blurb:

It wasn’t easy for Yvonne Cable to get over a heartbreaking relationship and revamp her life. But now the once-broke single mom is Atlanta’s most sought-after interior designer—and one-half of the media’s hottest power couple. She and her celebrity fiancé, Nathan, are a perfect, practical match, on—and off—camera. And with their new home improvement reality show the object of a fierce network bidding war, there’s no limit to how far they can go . . .

But Yvonne is stunned when mogul Richard Barrington III unexpectedly makes an offer for their program. He’s the man she thought left her for a more successful woman. And he’s the father of her son—though he didn’t know it until now. Richard wants to get to know their boy, and Yvonne agrees, though she’s wary. Yet little by little, she’s finding it hard to resist the responsible, caring man Richard has become. But when a scandalous leak puts everything Yvonne’s worked for at risk, she’ll have to look beyond surfaces to come to terms with who she is—and discover what she truly wants.

My second Nita Brooks book, The Essence of Perfection, releases in March 2020. Click here to learn more.
